Founded in 2024 by former Microsoft developer Davlet Dzhakishev and former McKinsey consultant Iuliia Petryshyn Thuen, Cloudgeni builds AI agents that manage and maintain cloud environments with minimal human intervention. It has already landed enterprise clients in Norway, including industrial group HydroDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and shipping company HavilaDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? Cloud environments are growing more complex, making stable operations harder to maintain without significant manual oversight. Dzhakishev says AI is shifting "from being a support tool to playing an active role in operating systems."

The company plans to use the funding to expand across the Nordics and the US, where it recently signed its first paying customer. It will also hire new team members to support growth.

What could go wrong? Trusting AI agents with live cloud infrastructure is a high-stakes proposition. Any misstep — downtime, misconfigurations, security lapses — could undermine enterprise confidence fast. Dzhakishev says the agents "are designed in a way that makes the adoption of the agent safe and reliable to the system owner," but proving that at scale remains the challenge.

The market is also crowded. Cloud management is a space where incumbents and well-funded startups alike are racing to layer in AI capabilities.

The signal: Cloudgeni's investor mix — Antler, byFounders Angel Collective, and Startuplab all participating alongside seasoned angel investors — reflects growing Nordic conviction in AI-driven infrastructure automation as a category worth backing early. With enterprise clients like Hydro and Havila already signed and a US beachhead established, the company is moving quickly from validation to expansion in a market where the shift from AI-assisted monitoring to fully autonomous cloud operations is still nascent.
