ILIOS 72 Alternative Capital raises INR 2 crore in pre-Series A at 3x markup
What's the deal? ILIOS 72 Alternative Capital, an Indian wealth management and alternative investments platform, has raised INR 2 crore (roughly $2M valuation) in a pre-Series A round. Family offices based in Jaipur and Mumbai participated, investing at a 3x markup to the company's seed round.
The company says its assets under management (AUM) have crossed INR 200 crore. Founded in 2025, ILIOS 72 offers high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investors access to private equity, venture capital, structured products, private credit, and global investment opportunities.
Why now? Indian investors are increasingly looking beyond traditional asset classes. ILIOS 72 says it has built a research-led, open-architecture platform to meet that demand — and the rapid AUM growth suggests the thesis is resonating.
"Indian investors are increasingly looking beyond traditional asset classes towards more sophisticated, research-driven opportunities," said co-founder Valmik Iyer.
What could go wrong? The alternative investments space in India is still maturing. Scaling beyond metros — ILIOS 72 plans to expand into Jaipur, Kanpur, and tier-2 cities — will test whether demand for sophisticated financial products exists outside the country's wealthiest urban centres.
The company is also very young, founded just this year. Building trust in wealth management takes time, and a small capital raise limits how fast it can invest in platform capabilities and talent.
The signal: India's wealth management market is fragmenting. A new generation of platforms is emerging to serve HNI and UHNI clients who want more than mutual funds and fixed deposits. ILIOS 72's model — aligning team incentives with portfolio performance rather than product sales — reflects a broader shift toward fee transparency and client-first advisory in the Indian financial services landscape.
The fact that family offices are backing this at an early stage signals appetite for infrastructure plays in India's alternative investments ecosystem.
