Junlian Electronics raises ~$14M Series A+ for EV power semiconductors

What's the deal? Junlian Electronics, a Chinese developer of new energy vehicle (NEV) components, has closed an A+ funding round of nearly ¥100M (roughly $14M). The round was led by CITIC Construction Investment Capital, with participation from Conch Private Equity and Wuhu Science and Technology Innovation Group.

The company focuses on motor controllers and power semiconductor modules for electric vehicles, supplying critical parts for NEV powertrain domain controllers.

Why now? China's EV market continues to expand rapidly, driving demand for domestically produced power electronics and semiconductor components. Securing homegrown supply chains for these parts has become a strategic priority as Chinese automakers compete globally.

The signal: Junlian's A+ round underscores how China's EV supply chain is maturing beyond vehicle assembly into the critical upstream layer of power semiconductors and motor controllers. With state-backed and regional investors like Wuhu Science and Technology Innovation Group participating, the deal fits a broader pattern of local governments co-investing to anchor advanced NEV component manufacturing in their jurisdictions.
