Publicit cierra una ronda de financiación de 700.000 euros para transformar la compra de publicidad global
What's the deal? Publicit, a Barcelona-based startup, has closed a €700,000 seed round co-led by BStartup Banco Sabadell and Successful FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The company is building a self-service platform that lets small and mid-sized businesses buy ad space across channels — connected TV, outdoor, digital audio, radio, and local press — without needing an agency or a big budget.
Aticco Labs also participated, alongside angel investors including Juanjo Mostazo (founder of Homa Games), Teresa López (chief executive officer of LOVE TV), Francesc Riverola (founder of FXStreet), David Tomás (founder of Cyberclick), and Josep Tribó (founder of Illumin).
Founded by Jordi Orteu, Gabriel García Asensio, and Andrés Buendía, Publicit tackles a structural problem in advertising: most businesses can only buy ads on Google and Meta because accessing other channels requires manual negotiations and physical contracts designed for large budgets.
Why now? The programmatic ad market has matured, but its tools remain gated behind enterprise-grade complexity. Meanwhile, small businesses account for the vast majority of advertisers — the so-called "long tail" — yet lack the resources to diversify beyond the big two platforms.
Publicit's answer is an AI-powered media planner that autonomously plans and activates campaigns across channels. It runs on a European bidder that processes ad auctions in under five milliseconds, with a second AI layer optimising each auction in real time. Any company can launch a multi-channel campaign in minutes, with no minimum spend.
What could go wrong? The adtech space is crowded and capital-intensive. Competing with entrenched demand-side platforms — and earning the trust of publishers willing to open premium inventory to a new entrant — is a steep climb on a €700,000 war chest. Publicit will likely need to raise again soon to scale its bidding infrastructure across markets.
There's also the question of whether SMEs truly want omnichannel advertising. Many small businesses struggle with digital marketing basics; offering them connected TV and outdoor ads could prove a harder sell than expected.
The signal: Publicit's round highlights the persistent gap between the programmatic advertising infrastructure built for enterprise buyers and the vast long tail of SME advertisers still funnelled into Google and Meta. The backing from a roster of Spanish founder-angels — spanning gaming, fintech, and media — suggests growing ecosystem conviction that AI-driven self-service tools can finally crack omnichannel access at the small-business tier, a segment that represents the bulk of advertisers by volume but a fraction of channel diversity.
