Emission Twin raises €400K from GoClimate founder to tackle Scope 3 emissions

Try Dealroom →, a climate tech startup that helps companies measure and reduce their carbon footprints, has raised €400K (SEK 4.2M) in a smaller funding round. The startup plans to invest the capital in product development, with a sharp focus on product-level emissions calculations and Scope 3 tracking — the notoriously difficult task of measuring emissions across a company's entire supply chain.
"We're investing heavily in further developing the product, with a strong focus on product calculations and Scope 3," said Anja Bexelius, chief executive officer of Emission Twin. "It's an area where we see clear demand from our customers, since their biggest challenge is often understanding and reducing the emissions connected to the products and services they purchase."
Why now? Businesses face mounting regulatory and market pressure to decarbonise, yet most still struggle with Scope 3 — the emissions embedded in their purchased goods and services. Emission Twin's bet is that product-level data, not just corporate-level reporting, is the missing piece.
The startup's vision is a collaborative framework where every business calculates its own Scope 1 emissions and feeds that data into a shared digital twin. Since one company's Scope 1 is another's Scope 2 or 3, this could simplify the whole chain.
"I am proud that we have managed to combine the market's most advanced technology with the simplest user experience," said co-founder Tove Nilstun.
What could go wrong? At €400K, this is a modest round. Scope 3 tracking is a hard technical and commercial problem — it requires buy-in from multiple companies across a value chain, not just one paying customer. Getting businesses to share emissions data in a collaborative framework demands trust, standardisation, and network effects that are slow to build.
The signal: Emission Twin previously raised €800K, making this €400K follow-on a sign of continued — if cautious — momentum for a startup still in the early growth stage. The round reflects a broader climate tech pivot from compliance-driven corporate reporting toward product-level granularity, where the real decarbonisation leverage lies. Nilvér's involvement, given his track record building GoClimate, suggests experienced climate-tech operators see Scope 3 data infrastructure as the next competitive frontier.
