The company, founded in 2023, positions itself as an "AI analyst in a box" for real estate professionals. It offers vertical AI tools for tasks like lease abstraction and T-12 financial analysis, targeting acquisitions, asset management, and other core workflows.

CEO Abhinav "Abe" Somani previously founded Leverton, an AI-driven document intelligence company, and brings over 20 years of experience in real estate investing and software. CTO Aman Dhesi built large-scale AI systems at Meta and DoorDash.

Why now? Since launching its flagship product in late 2025, Cadastral has signed more than 40 clients across various commercial real estate functions. Jenny Song, partner at Navitas Capital, pointed to a growing urgency among real estate organisations to define their AI strategies, calling the current demand a unique opportunity.

The platform requires no extensive customer-specific training, which means firms can integrate it quickly. Raj Singh from JLL Spark praised the speed at which teams see benefits after onboarding.

What could go wrong? Commercial real estate is a relationship-driven, slow-moving industry — and AI adoption remains uneven. Cadastral will need to prove its tools deliver institutional-grade accuracy, especially for high-stakes tasks like acquisitions analysis where errors carry real financial risk.

Competition is also heating up. Vertical AI startups are proliferating across every industry, and larger proptech players could build similar capabilities in-house.

The signal: The investor syndicate here blends proptech-focused funds — Navitas Capital and JLL Spark, both classified as investment funds on Dealroom — with corporate backing from AvalonBay, a major multifamily operator investing off its own balance sheet. That mix of specialist capital and strategic end-user buy-in suggests Cadastral is solving a pain point real estate operators already feel, not one it needs to manufacture. CEO Somani's prior exit with Leverton, which tackled a similar document-intelligence niche, adds a repeat-founder signal that tends to de-risk early-stage vertical AI bets.
