Bedrock Data appoints three senior leaders after $25M Series A
What's the deal? Bedrock Data, a Menlo Park-based data security and governance company, has appointed three senior leaders following a $25 million Series A round. Vikram Arwade joins as vice president of engineering, Corinna Krueger as vice president of marketing, and Amy Greenberg as head of revenue operations.
The round was led by Greylock Partners, with a strategic investment from Snowflake Ventures.
Arwade brings nearly two decades of engineering experience from roles at Cohesity, Opaque Systems, and Veritas/Symantec. Krueger has over 15 years in B2B marketing across cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, with stints at PerimeterX and SafeBreach. Greenberg spent more than a decade at MongoDB, where she rose to director of global security business operations.
Why now? Enterprise AI adoption is outpacing existing security controls, creating urgent demand for tools that govern how sensitive data is accessed, combined, and acted on across systems. Bedrock Data sells software for data security posture management, AI data security, and governance — a category growing in lockstep with AI spending.
The company has deepened integrations with Snowflake, Atlassian, and Google, and launched ArgusAI for governance in AI agents and generative AI systems.
"At enterprises, the challenge is finding sensitive data and being able to analyze it in place at petabyte scale, across a wide variety of data types and complex environments," Arwade said. "Most approaches break down when dealing with the vast data variety and volume."
What could go wrong? Bedrock Data operates in a crowded data security market where incumbents like Varonis, BigID, and others already compete for enterprise budgets. Scaling a platform across the wide variety of cloud environments and data types it promises to cover is technically demanding — and hiring three senior leaders simultaneously introduces execution risk during a critical growth phase.
The signal: The hires reflect a broader pattern: AI governance is becoming a standalone buying category, not just a feature bolted onto existing security products. As CISOs face pressure to enable AI adoption without introducing new risk, startups that combine data discovery, classification, and AI-specific governance are attracting both capital and talent. Bedrock Data's bet is that enterprises need purpose-built tools for this problem — and that the window to establish market position is now.
