Midi Health hits $1B valuation with $100M Series D for women's care

What's the deal? Midi Health has raised $100 million in Series D funding led by Goodwater Capital, pushing its valuation above $1 billion and achieving unicorn status. New investors include Foresite Capital and Serena Ventures, alongside continued backing from GV, Emerson Collective, and others. The women's telehealth company now serves more than 25,000 patients weekly and provides insurance coverage to 45 million women across all 50 states.

Founded to address perimenopause and menopause care, Midi is expanding into a comprehensive lifelong healthcare platform for women. The company offers integrated care across cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology, obesity management, and longevity medicine.

Why now? The economic case for women's healthcare investment has never been clearer. Two million US women enter menopause annually, with untreated symptoms costing an estimated $25 billion per year in medical expenses and lost productivity. Addressing critical health gaps across women's lifespans could add nearly $295 billion to the US economy by 2040.

Midi's rapid growth required immediate capital to scale operations without compromising care quality. The company is deploying a proprietary AI engine to manage its high patient volume, automating chart analysis, triage, and documentation whilst supporting clinical decision-making.

What could go wrong? Scaling specialist medical care nationally typically strains operational models. Whilst Midi's AI-powered approach aims to prevent clinician burnout, the company must balance automation with maintaining personalised care quality. The transition from a menopause-focused point solution to a comprehensive lifelong care platform represents significant operational complexity.

Competition in women's health is intensifying as the sector attracts more capital. Midi must execute on retention — keeping patients engaged beyond their initial menopause concerns requires proving value across multiple life stages and conditions.

The signal: Midi's unicorn valuation marks a watershed moment for women's health, a historically underfunded sector. The company's longitudinal care model — capturing patients during perimenopause and retaining them through chronic care management — represents digital health's holy grail of sustained patient relationships.

Early outcomes validate the approach: Midi has driven a 28 percentage point increase in breast cancer screening adherence, an 11 percentage point rise in colorectal cancer screening, and up to 13% lower total cost of care. To support its next phase, Midi has appointed Jason Wheeler as chief financial officer, bringing experience from Tesla and Google, alongside new marketing and commercial chiefs from Meta, Lyft, and digital health companies.

"Women's health has been treated like an afterthought for too long," said Joanna Strober, co-founder and chief executive officer. "This funding gives us the resources to rewrite that story at scale".
