Tomorrow.io raises $175M at $1B+ valuation for AI weather satellites

What’s the deal? Israeli-founded weather technology company Tomorrow.io has raised $175 million to fund the deployment of DeepSky, an AI-driven weather satellite constellation.
The round, led by Stonecourt CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and HarbourVest, values the company at more than $1 billion, according to Calcalist.

The financing brings Tomorrow.io’s total funding to about $500 million. The company is headquartered in Boston, employs around 150 people in Israel, and reports annual recurring revenue of roughly $100 million.

Why now? Demand for more accurate and timely weather data is rising as climate volatility increases and public satellite systems age.

Tomorrow.io says DeepSky is designed to close data gaps in underserved regions and deliver higher-resolution atmospheric forecasts than existing government infrastructure. The company is positioning its private satellite network as a complement to public systems, rather than a replacement.

What could go wrong? Building and launching satellite constellations is capital-intensive and technically complex, with risks around manufacturing, launch schedules, and in-orbit performance.

Tomorrow.io will also need to prove that customers are willing to pay for premium weather intelligence at scale. Competition is intensifying as governments and private firms invest heavily in next-generation climate and Earth-observation systems.

The signal: The round highlights renewed investor appetite for infrastructure-heavy climate and space technology, even as venture funding remains selective.

It also points to a broader shift toward private, AI-driven data networks filling gaps left by ageing public infrastructure.
