Indian AI Coding Startup Emergent Triples Valuation Within Four Months on $70M Raise
Emergent’s rapid rise is becoming one of the clearest examples of how quickly investor appetite has shifted toward AI-powered coding tools. Less than four months after closing a $23 million Series A, the Indian-founded startup has raised a $70 million Series B that values the company at $300 million post-money—roughly triple its previous valuation. The round was co-led by SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 and Khosla Ventures, bringing Emergent’s total funding to $100 million just seven months after launch.
The company builds what it calls a “vibe-coding” platform, using AI agents to help users design, build, test, and deploy full-stack web and mobile applications. The pitch is simple: enable entrepreneurs and small businesses to ship products without hiring large engineering teams. Emergent claims it already generates $50 million in annual recurring revenue and serves more than 5 million users across over 190 countries, with a goal of surpassing $100 million in ARR by April 2026. According to founder Mukund JhaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, demand is strongest in the U.S., Europe, and India, and the company’s recently launched mobile app-building tools are seeing fast adoption.
Although Emergent is headquartered in San Francisco, most of its workforce is based in Bengaluru, highlighting its cross-border setup and India’s growing role in building global AI startups. The company competes with fast-growing players like Lovable, Cursor, and Replit, all benefiting from a surge of interest in AI-assisted development. For investors, the deal also stands out as a return to India for SoftBank after several quieter years. Emergent says the new capital will go toward hiring, faster product development, and deeper expansion in its key markets—another signal of how aggressively the AI coding space is scaling.
