Smart Glasses Maker Xreal Raises $100M as Competition Heats Up with Meta, Razer and Lenovo Innovations
Xreal, a pioneer in smart glasses, has raised $100 million in new funding as competition in AI-powered wearables continues to intensify. The funding coincides with a busy period for the company. At the CES trade show in Las Vegas , Xreal announced two new pairs of smart glasses, including an upgraded entry-level model aimed at a wider consumer base. The company also said it has extended its partnership with Google , with the two firms collaborating on smart glasses running Google’s Android XR platform, which are expected to launch in 2026.
Xreal’s strategy is built around collaboration rather than full vertical integration. The company focuses on optical modules and chip development, while relying on partners like Google for artificial intelligence and operating systems. Xu said he believes this division of labor will lead to better hardware, as no single company can excel at every layer of the smart glasses stack.
The round comes as the smart glasses market attracts growing interest from both startups and tech giants. Meta has taken an early lead with its AI-enabled Ray-Ban glasses, while companies such as Razer and LenovoDealroom has a profile for this one.
