Amdocs Acquires MATRIXX Software for $200M, Strengthening Telecom Software Portfolio

The deal reflects ongoing consolidation in the business support systems (BSS) market as service providers modernise legacy infrastructure and seek more agile, real-time solutions.

Founded in 2009 and based in California, MATRIXX Software develops a converged charging and monetisation platform designed to unify rating, billing and revenue management for communications service providers.

The company’s software is built to support real-time charging and digital commerce, enabling operators to move beyond traditional siloed billing systems toward more flexible, usage-based and subscription models.

Amdocs, founded in 1982, specialises in software and services for communications, media and digital enterprises, including BSS, operational support systems, customer experience platforms and cloud-native applications.

The acquisition adds a modern monetisation component to Amdocs’ broad portfolio and aligns with its strategy of helping telecom operators accelerate digital transformation and deliver new services.

Industry observers view the deal as part of a broader shift in the telecom software landscape, where established vendors are absorbing specialised players to offer more comprehensive, cloud-ready platforms.

MATRIXX’s technology and customer base, which include service providers deploying 5G and digital-first offerings, are expected to complement Amdocs’ existing suite and extend its reach in converged billing and digital commerce.
