7AI, the New Cybersecurity Player from Cybereason Founders, Lands Record $130 M Series A

Barely ten months after emerging from stealth, 7AI — a cybersecurity startup co-founded by the veterans behind Cybereason — has just closed a $130 million Series A , marking what’s being hailed as the largest Series A ever in the cybersecurity sector. The funding round was led by Index Ventures — bringing 7AI’s total funding to about $166 million and pegging its post-money valuation at around $700 million .

What sets 7AI apart is not just the hefty price tag, but its ambition: to build autonomous AI agents that can handle cybersecurity investigations at scale — quickly, with high accuracy, and far less human effort than traditional teams. In less than a year, the startup reports its agents have processed over 2.5 million alerts and completed 650,000 investigations , reducing investigation times from hours to minutes, and slashing false positives by up to 99%.

The company says this AI-first approach is critical in a world where cyber-threats are multiplying fast and legacy detection systems are overwhelmed. By automating detection, analysis and response, 7AI aims to offer its customers — including large enterprises across finance, retail, technology and healthcare — a level of speed, consistency and scale that would be impossible with purely human-led security operations.

For many in the industry, 7AI represents more than just a promising startup: it’s a bold bet that the next generation of cybersecurity will rely less on armies of human analysts, and more on smart, autonomous systems. With deep funding, strong backing and early traction, 7AI’s journey over the next months could be seen as a test — not only for the company itself — but for whether AI-driven security can really replace traditional approaches at enterprise scale.
