Black Forest Labs Raises $300M Series B, Cementing Its Place in AI Visual Intelligence
Just 15 months after its launch, Black Forest Labs has closed a $300 million Series B at a $3.25 billion valuation, marking rapid growth in Europe’s AI ecosystem. Founded by the team behind Stability AI , the company builds next-generation image models—systems that understand intent, extend what cameras can capture, and transform imagination into visual reality for enterprises and independent creators alike.
The startup’s technology is already widely adopted. Millions of users engage with FLUX , Black Forest Labs’ platform, while its open-source models rank among the most popular image models on Hugging Face. Enterprises including fal.ai, Replicate, and TogetherAI rely on its models to power production workflows, and major partners such as Adobe, Canva, Meta, and Microsoft are building on top of them to deliver new visual experiences. The new funding will accelerate research and development, allowing the company to push the frontier of AI-driven visual intelligence even further.
Black Forest Labs’ progress underscores a broader trend: European AI startups are increasingly competing with, and in some cases outpacing, US giants. By demonstrating that world-class AI innovation doesn’t need to come from Silicon Valley, the team is positioning itself as a significant player on the global AI stage.
