Quantum Systems Confirms €180M Funding, Triples Valuation to €3B
Quantum Systems has finalised a €180 million funding round, lifting the German drone maker’s valuation to €3 billion and confirming earlier reports that a substantial new investment was close to completion.
The round was led by Balderton Capital, which also headed the company’s €160 million raise in May, signalling renewed conviction in the Munich-based firm’s position in Europe’s defence-technology sector.
Co-CEO Sven KruckDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → said the additional capital will be used to expand production capacity and accelerate the development of counter-drone technologies, an area the company plans to bring to market next year.
Demand for such systems has increased sharply since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, where Quantum Systems’ surveillance drones have been deployed and have contributed to a surge in the company’s revenues.
The financing caps a notably active year for Quantum Systems, which has complemented its organic growth with strategic acquisitions, reflecting the company's intention to integrate more of the drone-development pipeline in-house.
These have included the purchases of firms specialising in advanced sensing, software and drone engineering, enabling the company to broaden its product portfolio and strengthen its “family of systems” strategy.
German peers Helsing and StarkDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → have also secured sizeable raises in 2025, while testing strike-capable systems with European militaries. This intensifying competition is pushing companies to scale rapidly and invest heavily in manufacturing and R&D to meet demand from governments seeking to modernise their air-security capabilities.
With the new capital in place, the company plans to scale production throughout 2026 and continue expanding internationally. Quantum Systems has also indicated that an IPO could be considered as early as 2026, depending on market conditions and progress in rolling out its expanding suite of autonomous and counter-drone systems.
The completion of this latest round further consolidates its position as one of Europe’s fastest-growing defence-technology companies at a time of rising political and military demand for advanced unmanned aerial systems.
