Vantage Data Centers Secures $1.6 Billion for APAC Expansion

The funding will support the company’s regional development pipeline and follows the completion of its acquisition of Yondr GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →’s 300 MW hyperscale campus in Johor, Malaysia.
The capital injection marks a significant milestone for Vantage’s APAC platform, which has grown rapidly since its launch in 2021. The company now expects to develop more than 1 gigawatt of IT capacity across Malaysia, Australia, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong .
Executives said the backing from two of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds signals continuing investor conviction in long-term digital-infrastructure demand, even as global capital markets navigate tighter conditions.
The newly acquired Johor campus —one of the largest hyperscale developments underway in Southeast Asia—sits within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and gives Vantage a strategic foothold in a region that is becoming central to cloud-computing and AI workloads . Spanning roughly 73 acres, the site is designed to accommodate advanced technologies such as direct-to-chip liquid cooling and aims to achieve EDGE sustainability certification.
Vantage plans to use the new capital to accelerate land acquisition, construction and tenant onboarding across its APAC markets, while meeting strict sustainability and energy-efficiency requirements increasingly demanded by hyperscale clients. The combination of the Johor acquisition and fresh investment positions it to deliver large-scale facilities more quickly for cloud, AI and enterprise customers.
