Kalshi Raises $1 Billion at $11 Billion Valuation as Prediction Markets Gain Momentum

Kalshi has secured a $1 billion funding round that lifts its valuation to $11 billion, according to multiple reports citing sources familiar with the deal.

The raise, led by existing investors Sequoia and CapitalG, more than doubles the company’s valuation from just over a month earlier, when it closed a $300 million round at $5 billion.

The surge in valuation reflects rapid investor interest in regulated prediction markets, a sector that has shifted from regulatory scrutiny to mainstream attention as platforms broaden their product offerings. Kalshi enables users to trade on the outcomes of events in politics, economics, sport and entertainment, framing these markets as tools for forecasting rather than speculation.

The company’s momentum follows a successful court challenge last year against the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which cleared the way for Kalshi to list contracts on the U.S. presidential race.

The ruling has also encouraged new entrants: Robinhood launched its own prediction-market hub earlier this year, while Intercontinental ExchangeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, has announced plans to invest up to $2 billion in rival platform Polymarket at a valuation between $12 billion and $15 billion.
