Luma AI Raises $900M Series C, Secures First Access to HUMAIN-AMD Supercluster

Luma AI , a U.S.-based frontier AI startup, closed a $900 million Series C round led by HUMAIN , Saudi Arabia’s sovereign AI company. The round also included AMD Ventures and top-tier U.S. investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Amplify Partners, and Matrix Partners . The deal, one of the largest AI Series C raises of the year, wasn’t just about capital—it was about securing access to hyperscale compute .

HUMAIN had previously announced a $10 billion joint venture with AMD to build a global AI hyperscaler. Luma AI emerged as the first customer , locking in 100MW of compute capacity from the upcoming 2-gigawatt Project Halo supercluster in Saudi Arabia. The cluster, poised to be among the world’s largest AI training environments, is designed to support multimodal AI models capable of reasoning across video, audio, text, and images—a step toward AGI that can operate in the physical world.

Luma AI is already gaining traction with its Ray3 reasoning video model , which powers creative workflows for global brands and integrates with platforms like Adobe. The company began generating revenue after launching its AI app in November 2024, reaching an US$8 million annualized pace by December, with Getlatka reporting $21.2 million in revenue by July 2025. The Series C funds, combined with early access to hyperscale compute, accelerate the startup’s mission to build large-scale World Models for simulation, robotics, and real-world decision-making.

The round also deepens the HUMAIN-Luma AI CREATE initiative , which focuses on Arabic and culturally specific AI models . The goal is ambitious: challenge Western-dominated creative ecosystems by delivering context-aware, personalized content for media, gaming, and advertising across the Middle East and beyond.

In many ways, this deal is a microcosm of Saudi Arabia’s AI strategy : align capital, sovereign-scale infrastructure, and frontier developers to capture early advantages in next-generation AI. For Luma AI, it’s a combination of funding, compute, and market access that could define the next phase of its growth—and possibly, the broader AI landscape.
