Databricks Reportedly Eyes $130 Billion+ Valuation in New Funding Talks
Just a few months after completing its $1 billion Series J funding round at a $100 billion valuation, Databricks is reportedly in early discussions to raise fresh capital that could value the company at over $130 billion. No term sheet has been signed yet, but reaching this milestone would represent a roughly 30% increase from its previous valuation.
The company is focusing on two strategic initiatives: developing a dedicated database for AI agents and expanding its AI agent platform. These efforts reflect the rapid adoption of AI in the database market, where a growing share of new databases is now being generated by AI agents rather than humans, signaling a broader shift in data intelligence and automation.
Databricks has also been actively consolidating its position in the market. Earlier this year, it acquired open-source database startup Neon for $1 billion, a move that contributed to a broader wave of consolidation in the database sector. The company has not provided further details regarding the ongoing funding discussions.
