Anysphere Soars to $29.3B Valuation as It Reimagines How Code Is Written
Anysphere, the company behind the AI coding assistant Cursor , has raised $2.3 billion at a $29.3 billion valuation , according to The Wall Street Journal . The round was co-led by Accel and Coatue , with participation from existing investors Thrive Capital and DST Global , and new strategic partners Google and Nvidia .
The massive valuation — nearly triple what Anysphere was worth just months ago — reflects the company’s rapid rise as one of the standout players in the generative AI boom. Cursor has become a favorite tool among software developers, used at companies ranging from OpenAI and Spotify to Uber and Major League Baseball , without any traditional marketing push.
With the new funding, Anysphere plans to expand Cursor’s capabilities , develop its own AI models , and accelerate enterprise adoption . The company aims to move beyond being a coding assistant toward becoming a fully AI-driven development environment — one that can understand, anticipate, and contribute to complex projects alongside human engineers.
By partnering with Google and Nvidia, Anysphere gains access to the computing power and infrastructure needed to support that vision. The company’s goal, according to CEO Michael Truell , is to redefine how software is built — making programming less about typing and more about collaborating with intelligent systems.
