BigPanda Acquires Velocity to Expand AI-Driven IT Operations

BigPanda, the U.S.-based IT operations and automation unicorn, has acquired Velocity , an Israeli startup specialising in site reliability engineering (SRE) and incident automation. The acquisition strengthens BigPanda’s position in agentic AI —a new generation of intelligent systems designed to autonomously detect, diagnose, and resolve operational issues across complex enterprise infrastructure.

Kain will join BigPanda as Vice President of AI Detection & Response , overseeing the integration of Velocity’s team and technology into the broader platform.

The deal reflects growing demand for automation in IT operations as enterprises grapple with expanding cloud environments and data complexity. Traditional monitoring tools can no longer scale effectively with modern infrastructure, driving companies to adopt AI-powered systems capable of making independent, real-time decisions.
