Stingray Acquires TuneIn in a $175 Million Deal to Expand Global Audio Reach

The transaction is expected to close in early 2026.
Founded in 2002 and based in San Francisco, TuneIn provides access to over 100,000 radio stations and 5.7 million podcasts across more than 200 countries, reaching an estimated 75 million monthly users . Its partnerships with car manufacturers, smart speaker makers, and streaming platforms make it one of the most widely distributed audio apps globally.
Montreal-based Stingray , known for its music television channels, karaoke services, and in-store audio solutions, said the acquisition will strengthen its direct-to-consumer business and digital advertising network.
The company plans to integrate TuneIn’s global audience and streaming infrastructure into its content and distribution systems, creating a comprehensive audio ecosystem spanning broadcast, digital, and out-of-home environments.
TuneIn will continue operating under its existing brand, with its leadership team joining Stingray to oversee integration. The combined company plans to expand subscription services, programmatic advertising, and partnerships with automotive and connected-device manufacturers.
