Raise Reaches Unicorn Status with $120M Round to Expand Dhan Investing Platform

In October 2025, Raise Financial Services, the parent company of retail investing app Dhan, entered India’s unicorn club with a $1.2 billion valuation following a $120 million funding round.

Founded in 2021 by Pravin JadhavDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Paytm Money founder, Raise launched Dhan to simplify investing for India’s new generation of market participants. The platform offers access to equities, derivatives, and funds, with integrated tools and analytics for active traders.

The new capital will fund expansion into wealth management and advisory services, as well as the development of new investment products for Gen Z and millennial users. Raise is also pursuing an omnichannel strategy, blending its digital infrastructure with offline service hubs to reach users beyond metropolitan areas.

Dhan’s rise comes amid a broader surge in retail participation in India’s equity markets, which has more than doubled since 2020 as younger investors turn to low-cost digital platforms. By focusing on transparency, design simplicity, and execution speed, Dhan has positioned itself as a challenger to incumbents like Zerodha and Groww.
