Sweden’s Einride Raises $100M, Expands Electric and Autonomous Freight
Swedish freight technology company Einride has secured $100 million in fresh funding to accelerate the rollout of its autonomous and electric trucking solutions and expand globally. Founded in 2016, Einride has built a full-stack freight ecosystem that combines heavy-duty electric trucks, purpose-built autonomous “pods,” and its Saga digital platform for planning and fleet management. Unlike conventional trucks, the pods operate without a cab, relying instead on remote “Pod Operators” for oversight. This integrated approach has attracted major customers such as PepsiCo, Carlsberg, DB Schenker, and GE Appliances across Europe, North America, and the UAE.

In 2024, Einride was running at about $50 million in annual recurring revenue and reported roughly $5 billion in contracted revenue, underscoring growing customer demand for its services.
The funding comes as the wider autonomous vehicle sector faces long timelines and high costs in the shift from development to operations. Still, Einride’s ecosystem model sets it apart from rivals like Volvo Trucks, Daimler, and Waymo Via. EQT Ventures partner Ted Persson said Einride is “quietly rewiring an entire industry,” underscoring investor confidence in its bid to decarbonize global freight.
