DataCrunch Raises €55M to Power Europe’s AI Infrastructure

Helsinki-based DataCrunch Oy raised €55 million in a Series A round , combining equity and debt financing. The investment was led by byFounders, Skaala, Varma, and Tesi , with debt support from banks including Nordea and Danske Bank . Since its founding in 2020, DataCrunch has now raised a total of approximately €76.5 million .

DataCrunch provides high-performance cloud infrastructure optimized for AI workloads , offering clients scalable GPU clusters across industries. Its services include Instant Clusters , recognized for balancing performance against global hyperscalers, and Serverless Containers , supporting hundreds of millions of requests monthly. The company currently operates NVIDIA HGX B200 GPUs and plans to integrate next-generation accelerators.

With a focus on European AI sovereignty , DataCrunch delivers cloud services powered entirely by renewable energy from its data centers in Finland and Iceland. The company is also advancing plans for an AI GigaFactory in Latvia , a large-scale data center with up to 100,000 AI accelerators , designed to handle extensive training and inference workloads sustainably.

The company’s growth reflects a strategic shift in Europe’s AI and cloud landscape, combining sovereignty, green energy, and advanced infrastructure to offer a local, scalable alternative to dominant global hyperscalers.
