UBTech Robotics Secures $1 Billion to Drive Middle East Expansion
Chinese humanoid robotics leader UBTech Robotics has secured a $1 billion strategic financing line from Infini Capital . The deal provides flexible instruments — including private placements, convertible bonds, and direct advances — while also allowing Infini to gradually increase its equity stake in the company to around 5%. The move marks one of the largest recent financings in the global robotics sector.
A central part of the plan is the creation of a joint venture in the Middle East , which will involve building a mega factory , a research and development hub , and a regional headquarters . The United Arab Emirates is expected to serve as the main base of operations. This expansion aligns with Infini Capital’s strategy to strengthen investment flows between China and the Middle East, following the firm’s opening of an Abu Dhabi office in 2024.
The investment comes as UBTech continues to grow its footprint in robotics. The company already supplies robots to automakers such as BYD, Geely, and FAW-Volkswagen , and in the first half of 2025 it reported a 27.5% revenue increase , while narrowing its losses. With this financing, UBTech is positioning itself at the forefront of humanoid robotics, a field seen as the next major leap in automation and artificial intelligence.
