Siléane Accelerates Expansion Following Motion Equity Buyout
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Saint‑Étienne, Siléane has become a leading provider of intelligent robotic solutions for complex and unpredictable industrial environments. Serving sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, luxury goods, logistics, energy, and nuclear, the company specializes in applications ranging from packaging and inspection to assembly and nuclear decommissioning.
Siléane invests approximately 10% of its revenue annually in R&D , leveraging proprietary expertise in robotics, vision systems, software, and artificial intelligence. The Group’s revenue grew from €10 million to over €35 million by 2024 , supported by the opening of new sites in Toulouse, Rennes, and Rouen and four strategic acquisitions since 2020.
In April 2025, Motion Equity Partners acquired a majority stake in Siléane through a leveraged buyout , taking over from minority investors Siparex, Garibaldi, and EIC. With the backing of its new shareholder, Siléane aims to accelerate its external growth strategy—expanding geographically in France and internationally, integrating complementary expertise, and strengthening its workforce with new talent and capabilities.
Investec Advisory acted as the exclusive advisor to Siléane’s shareholders throughout the transaction, guiding the process from strategy development and buyer identification to preparing marketing materials, coordinating due diligence, managing the sale process, and negotiating the final terms. The advisory support was pivotal in executing the LBO successfully and ensuring a smooth transition to the new majority shareholder.
