Datasite Acquires Sourcescrub to Deepen Private Market Intelligence
On August 8, 2025, CapVest-backed Datasite announced the acquisition of Sourcescrub, a California-based deal-sourcing and market intelligence platform. The terms weren’t disclosed, but the move marks Datasite’s third major deal in as many months, following its June purchase of Grata and July acquisition of AI agent platform Blueflame.
Sourcescrub, backed by Francisco Partners since 2021, is known for its “sources-first” approach — collecting data from over 220,000 sources to build enriched profiles on roughly 16 million private companies. Its tools help investment banks, private equity firms, and corporates map markets, plan conferences, and identify hard-to-find acquisition targets, particularly in fragmented or bootstrapped sectors.
Datasite plans to merge Sourcescrub into Grata, combining curated, analyst-verified data with Grata’s AI-native search engine. The integration aims to improve both the breadth and precision of deal sourcing, reduce false positives, and surface niche opportunities more effectively. It also gives Datasite valuable, high-quality training data to power Blueflame’s autonomous dealmaking workflows.
The acquisition reinforces Datasite’s strategy to become the operating system for dealmakers — not just managing the execution of deals, but also powering origination and intelligence. With these moves, Datasite is positioning itself against the likes of PitchBook, CB Insights, and FactSet, while retaining its dominant position in virtual data rooms and transaction workflow tools.
