Artbio Secures $132M to Accelerate Lead Radioligand Therapy into Phase II Trials
Artbio, a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge (USA) and Oslo (Norway), has secured $132 million in Series B funding . The round is co-led by Sofinnova Investments and B Capital , with participation from Qatar Investment Authority , Alexandria Venture Investments , and returning investors F-Prime , Omega Funds , and Third Rock Ventures .
The financing significantly strengthens Artbio’s ability to progress its lead asset— AB001 , targeting metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer—into Phase II clinical trials . Funds will also be used to advance multiple preclinical programs toward IND readiness and to expand clinical-grade isotope manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure.
Artbio’s proprietary AlphaDirect™ isotope isolation technology enables benchtop production of lead-212 (Pb‑212) with over 99.9% purity , facilitating distributed manufacturing across multiple small-scale sites. This approach addresses a key industry bottleneck—delivery speed and reliability of short-lived alpha emitters—while reducing dependence on central reactor infrastructure.
Alpha radioligand therapies (ARTs) such as ARTbio’s nearly patent-protected portfolio offer high tumor specificity , compact payload delivery, and potentially superior clinical profiles versus beta-based alternatives like Novartis’ Pluvicto.
