This platform is designed to rationally engineer and optimize peptide medicines, focusing on properties like affinity, stability, and permeability to ensure they can be taken orally. The company's business model revolves around discovering and advancing a pipeline of potential first-in-class and best-in-class oral peptide programs. The initial focus is on targeting validated pathways in immunology and cardiometabolic diseases, including conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), inflammatory bowel disease, atopic dermatitis, and obesity.

Financially, Pinnacle Medicines has raised a total of $134 million. This includes a substantial Series A funding round led by OrbiMed and Qiming Venture Partners, followed by an oversubscribed $89 million Series B financing in March 2026. The Series B round was co-led by LAV and Foresite Capital, with participation from new and existing investors such as Quan Capital, RA Capital Management, and OrbiMed. These funds are intended to advance the company's lead programs through clinical proof-of-concept and to further expand its research and development capabilities.
