Claros is a power management platform company that develops hardware and software to optimize energy delivery and consumption in data centers, specifically to enhance compute performance and maximize the efficiency of AI operations. Founded in 2024 by Daniel Kultran and Grant Verstandig, the company emerged from stealth with $9.75 million in initial funding and is backed by firms including Red Cell Partners, General Catalyst, and the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC). The first is an Integrated Voltage Regulator (IVR) designed to deliver power directly to the processing units (xPUs) on servers. This approach minimizes heat conversion loss, reduces energy waste, and allows operators to control voltage levels for greater efficiency. The second product is a Power Gateway, which is a DC-native distributor that shifts data center power distribution from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). This reduces the number of inefficient AC-to-DC conversions, aiming to decrease energy loss, simplify infrastructure, and improve reliability.

Claros is targeting the data center market, where operators face challenges in sourcing enough power and managing efficiency as AI workloads increase. By reinventing the power system, the company aims to help data centers scale intelligently. In March 2026, Claros announced an oversubscribed $30 million seed round co-led by General Catalyst and Red Cell Partners to accelerate the development of its chip-to-grid platform. With this capital, the company plans to expand its lab facilities, grow its team, and move towards manufacturing its IVR and Power Gateway technologies. Since its public launch, Claros has fabricated and begun testing three different IVR designs in its Los Angeles-area lab.
