The company as we know it today was born in 1997 from the merger of two French IT firms, Axime and Sligos, with Bernard Bourigeaud as the founding CEO steering the integration. A pivotal moment came in 2000, when Atos merged with the Dutch company Origin B.V., creating Atos Origin and giving it a massive footprint across Europe.
