Dotmatics Joins Siemens: Bridging Scientific Research and Industrial Software
Dotmatics has evolved from a scientific informatics provider into a key platform player in cloud-based R&D, shaped by two major acquisitions and a focused strategy on data integration and automation.

The transaction combined Dotmatics’ data management and workflow tools with Insightful Science’s suite of widely used scientific applications.
The merged entity, which adopted the Dotmatics name, aimed to provide an integrated, cloud-first platform to support drug discovery and life sciences research. At the time, the combined group was projected to generate over $100 million in annual revenue.
Following the acquisition, Dotmatics expanded its offering across ELN, LIMS, and analytics, focusing on scalable, cloud-native tools for regulated research environments.

Now part of Siemens’ Digital Industries Software division and the Xcelerator portfolio, Dotmatics is expected to strengthen Siemens’ presence in AI-enabled, data-driven life sciences solutions.
