Bayzat – HR and Healthtech, Gulf-Optimized
Bayzat started in 2013 as a health insurance comparison tool. But founders Talal Bayaa, Brian Habibi, and Tariq Sanad quickly realized the real opportunity was deeper: most SMEs in the Gulf were still managing HR on spreadsheets. No benefits portals. No payroll systems. No digitized health insurance onboarding.
So Bayzat pivoted into HRIS for the GCC—handling payroll, employee records, leave tracking, and insurance in one seamless platform. What made it work was not just software, but local fluency. Bayzat integrated local labor laws, visa renewals, regional insurance policies, and Arabic support—making it a no-brainer for SME admins across the UAE and Saudi.
By 2021, Bayzat was processing over $100M in payroll annually and managing benefits for thousands of employees. It raised $25M+ from Mubadala, Point72 Ventures, and BECO Capital. But it also turned into a distribution engine for health insurance and financial services—unlocking new monetization layers through embedded fintech.
In a region where B2B SaaS has lagged, Bayzat is proving that localized vertical software—not just horizontal tools—is the winning formula. It's HR as infrastructure, wrapped in regional DNA.
