🧩 OpenLP: Pulling LPs Out of the Shadows

OpenLP isn’t a firm, but it might be the most impactful LP movement in the venture world. Launched by Beezer Clarkson in 2016 under the Sapphire Partners banner, OpenLP was designed to demystify the Limited Partner universe—a space traditionally opaque and clubby. The goal was simple but radical: make LPs more visible, accessible, and accountable.

What started as a hashtag and Twitter thread evolved into a respected platform: curated LP interviews, fund manager perspectives, transparency resources, and open discussion around capital flows and LP-GP relationships. It challenged the old norms of “capital behind the curtain” and helped newer fund managers understand how LPs actually think.
