1000 Ocean Startups: Supporting Marine Startups for a Sustainable Future

1000 Ocean Startups is an international coalition launched in 2021 to accelerate the development of startups focused on ocean health, climate resilience, and the sustainable blue economy.

The coalition’s goal is to support at least 1,000 ocean-focused startups by 2030. By 2025, it has already assisted over 350 ventures, helping them access mentorship, funding, and industry partnerships.

Members of the coalition collectively manage nearly $1.5 billion in assets and have a track record of investing in or accelerating startups working on solutions such as sustainable aquaculture, ocean data technologies, bioplastics, renewable marine energy, and decarbonisation of shipping.
