Boeing to Divest Digital Aviation Assets to Thoma Bravo for $10.55 Billion

Boeing has announced a definitive agreement to sell key segments of its Digital Aviation Solutions business to private equity firm Thoma Bravo for $10.55 billion in an all-cash transaction. The deal includes prominent aviation software platforms such as Jeppesen, ForeFlight, AerData, and OzRunways. This strategic divestiture is part of Boeing’s broader plan to streamline operations and strengthen its capital structure, allowing the company to concentrate on its core aerospace and defense businesses.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Approximately 3,900 employees are associated with the Digital Aviation Solutions unit, and Boeing is working with Thoma Bravo to ensure a smooth transition for affected staff.
