The expanded Novartis partnership strengthens IsoLabs’ ability to tackle complex drug targets by using AI to explore new chemical spaces beyond traditional research methods. This collaboration is expected to improve the efficiency of drug discovery, lower the failure rate of experimental compounds, and accelerate the development of treatments for diseases with significant unmet medical needs.
In 2023, IsoLabs significantly increased its R&D spending from £12m to £49m, despite not generating revenue. It secured major partnerships with Eli Lilly and Novartis worth up to $2.9bn, earning $583k in operating income. Staffing costs also surged as headcount grew from 43 to 71, contributing to a post-tax loss of £60m.
