Integrity360 bets R55M on Cape Town for its largest SOC
What's the deal? Cyber security group Integrity360Dealroom has a profile for this one. The 40-desk SOC opened on September 14 and handles monitoring and incident response for customers across Africa and internationally.
Why Cape Town? The city became Integrity360's base two years ago after it acquired two local firms: Grove Group in August 2024 and NcloseDealroom has a profile for this one. "We really don't see Cape Town as a satellite office of some sort," says CEO and chairman Ian Brown, calling the SOC "a statement about how seriously we take the skills and the market here."
What's the endgame? The company frames the facility as a response to three pressures: organisations adopting AI safely while defending against AI-driven attacks, a growing population of machine and AI identities to manage, and regulators putting cyber resilience directly on boards and executives. It argues that recovering from an attack now matters as much as stopping one.
Skills and jobs: The investment will create roughly 100 jobs over three years, drawing on South African cyber security talent in demand at home and abroad. "The best way to retain our local talent is to give them world-class and market-leading opportunities right here at home," says regional CTO Martin Potgieter.

Local backing: James Vos, the City of Cape Town's mayoral committee member for economic growth, called the decision "a strong vote of confidence in our city and the talent we have here." He said the city's mission is "to make Cape Town the easiest place to do business in Africa."
The signal: Placing its biggest SOC in Cape Town rather than in Dublin, Madrid or Stockholm signals that African cyber security talent is becoming a global asset, not just a regional one. For a sector defined by a chronic skills shortage, where the work is done increasingly matters as much as who does it.
