What's the deal? EarthSoftDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired PlanEngage, a stakeholder engagement platform, from AECOMDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for an undisclosed sum. The Pensacola, Florida-based company announced the deal on September 9, 2026.

What does each do? EarthSoft builds environmental and geotechnical data management software, best known for its EQuIS platform. PlanEngage, running for seven years, is a portal that pulls data from multiple systems and uses GIS and interactive tools to communicate project information to communities, regulators, and stakeholders.

What's the rationale? The acquisition lets EarthSoft connect environmental data, project information, and stakeholder engagement in one place. "Our vision is not to force data movement, but to make data more accessible and actionable," said Dan Alexander, chief commercial officer at EarthSoft.

What changes for customers? PlanEngage will continue delivering the platform and support under EarthSoft. The company said it will work with AECOM to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers, with ongoing support and a roadmap for future enhancements.

The signal: As environmental and infrastructure projects grow more complex, buyers want fewer disconnected tools. The deal reflects a push to fold data management and stakeholder communication into a single portal — moving teams from collection and analysis to decision-making.
