Hain Celestial sells international arm to Aurelius for $320 million

"The resulting North American business would feature leading brands in attractive categories with a more streamlined operating model," said president and chief executive officer Alison Lewis.
What could go wrong? The transaction hinges on Hain securing an amendment to extend the credit agreement's maturity date. Aurelius can walk away if the amendment is not obtained within 30 days of signing, and Hain says there is no assurance it will be.
The signal: The sale reflects a broader push among packaged-food groups to shed sprawling portfolios and cut debt. For Hain, focus and a leaner balance sheet are now the priority over global reach.
