CGI buys Cincinnati's Callibrity to expand AI and platform engineering
What's the deal? CGIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, one of the world's largest independent technology and professional services firms, has acquired Callibrity, a Cincinnati-based technology consulting firm. The transaction closed on September 8, 2026. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side does: CGI, founded in 1976, employs 94,000 consultants globally and reported fiscal 2025 revenue of CA$15.91 billion. Callibrity, founded in 2007, brings together developers, strategists, and engineers to solve complex technology challenges across financial services, insurance, and manufacturing.
Why it matters: The deal adds 120 consultants and strengthens CGI's presence in the Cincinnati metro market. It also expands CGI's capabilities in production-ready enterprise AI, platform engineering, and digital product development.
What changes for clients? Callibrity's clients keep the teams and collaborative approach they rely on, plus access to CGI's broader services and global delivery network.
"Cincinnati represents an exciting market for CGI and an opportunity to further establish our presence with a highly respected team," said Vijay Srinivasan, president of U.S. Commercial and State Government operations at CGI.
What they're saying: "Joining CGI gives us the opportunity to build on what has made Callibrity successful while expanding what we can offer our clients and our people," said Gary Howard, chief executive officer of Callibrity.
The signal: As enterprises push to move AI from pilots into production, larger services firms are absorbing specialist consultancies to add technical depth and local footholds. For CGI, Callibrity is a bolt-on that pairs niche engineering talent with global scale.
