Five new startups to watch, from firefighting drones to cancer screening

The hardware play: FireDrone, a Zurich robotics startup founded by Fabian Wiesemüller and David Häusermann, builds drones for firefighting and industrial inspections in extreme conditions. It is usable at temperatures of up to 200°C and "delivers real-time data where conventional drones cannot survive" (translated from German).
The health angle: Munich-based ExoSphere, founded by Negar Shahmoradi and Markus Rinecker, wants to make early cancer detection accessible at scale. Its approach combines advanced microfluidics with high-sensitivity biomarker detection technology.
The software bets: ViVi, from Darmstadt founders Dominik Thüsing and Andreas Schreiter, is building an AI-powered platform to help private landlords and property investors manage their portfolios, replacing "Excel spreadsheets, shoeboxes full of receipts, and various isolated solutions." AesthOS, launched in Kaarst by Neils Shoobridge, offers specialised practice software for aesthetic clinics in Germany, from single Botox and filler practices to surgical clinics.
Why now? raffleboxx, based in St. Wendel and led by founder Christoph Gerlach, lets clubs and organisations run digital lotteries simply and transparently. The team says it aims to modernise "traditional lottery procedures" and give groups "a simple, secure way" to activate members and supporters.
The signal: The lineup shows Germany and Switzerland producing early-stage founders across vertical software and deep tech, from regulated healthcare and property niches to physical robotics — evidence of a broad, sector-spanning founding pipeline in the DACH ecosystem.
