Clucky launches alarm app with $40 subscription that wakes users with a rooster
What's the deal? CluckyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched an iPhone alarm app for habitual snoozers that can wake users with a crowing rooster and requires them to complete a mission before the alarm turns off. It offers a Pro subscription priced at $39.99 per year and is available now on the App Store. Shortly after launch, founder Adrian Angelo Abelarde reported 222 active trials, 17 paid subscriptions, $107 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), and 1.5k active customers.
What are the features? Wake-up missions include solving math problems, memorising and tapping tiles in order, typing what Clucky says, shaking the phone, walking, doing push-ups, tilting a ball toward a goal, and an AI camera challenge.
For a gentler start, the app offers chimes, birds, and standard beeping, plus an "Extra Loud Mode" that raises the volume when the alarm sounds.
What else? A stats section tracks the average seconds an alarm rings before a mission is completed, total missions beaten, and total wake-ups. A "Rooster Report" grades weekly wake-up performance.
Users can also create a "Nest" or "Flock" — private alarm groups that let friends or family wake at the same time and hold each other accountable.
Who's behind it? Clucky was founded by Adrian Angelo Abelarde, a former software engineer at Fanatics. Abelarde did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The signal: Clucky joins a growing category of alarm apps, including AlarmyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Awake, that use challenges to stop people turning off alarms and falling back asleep. Its strategy is to make dismissing an alarm irritating enough that users have no choice but to fully wake up.
