Romania's Arobs sells satellite unit Arobs Polska to Poland's WB Electronics

What's the deal? Arobs Transilvania Software (AROBS), Romania's largest listed IT company, has sold its entire stake in Arobs Polska to Polish group WB Electronics. Arobs Polska develops electronic solutions for satellite applications. The value was not disclosed in the filing to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Why now? Arobs first bought out a minority shareholder's 5.66% stake so the deal could cover 100% of Arobs Polska's share capital. The company said the sale followed a strategic review of its portfolio.

What's the endgame? Arobs wants to focus resources on areas where it holds strong competencies: automotive software and engineering, IoT and telematics, enterprise software, life sciences, and travel. The Polish unit sat apart from those lines, with long development cycles, institutional programmes, and specific capital and infrastructure needs.

What changes? Integrating Arobs Polska into the WB Electronics industrial group gives the team access to an industrial platform and a portfolio of programmes suited to its work. "The transaction ensures the continuity of ongoing projects," Arobs said (translated from Romanian), adding that it has no impact on Arobs Transilvania Software's current operations.

By the numbers: Arobs closed the first half of 2026 with revenue of 292 million lei, up 36%, and net profit of 22.5 million lei, up 121%. AROBS shares have gained 15% over the past year, giving the company a market value of 865 million lei. Founder Voicu Oprean holds 45.3% of the capital.

The signal: The disposal reflects a disciplined approach to capital allocation, with Arobs trimming a specialised, capital-heavy business to concentrate on its core software and engineering markets.
