What each side brings: Boost runs a warehousing facility in Gainesville, Georgia, and specialises in asset-light logistics. The AMX Companies — anchored by Alabama Motor Express — operate roughly 500 tractors and nearly 2,000 trailers, plus brokerage and expedited services.

Why now? RTB wanted a faster route into managed services. "The Boost platform gives us an accelerated entry point to the Managed Services arena," said Adam McDaniel, president of RTB Holdings, adding that expanding these client offerings "was a major priority."

What's the endgame? RTB is building a multi-modal platform by combining asset-based and asset-light businesses. The deal adds cross-selling opportunities: Boost customers gain access to truckload and expedited capacity, while AMX gains managed services and fulfillment.

What changes for customers? Little, day to day. "Boost isn't going anywhere," said founder Todd Gailey, noting customers keep the same relationship while gaining new capacity options.

The signal: The acquisition reflects continued consolidation in freight and logistics, as operators bundle asset-based and asset-light services under one roof to capture more of each customer's supply chain spend.
