Resonant buys France's Creapharm Bioservices to bolster cell and gene therapy storage

What's the deal? Resonant Clinical SolutionsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired France-based Creapharm Bioservices from Myonex, a clinical trial supply and packaging company. The deal expands Resonant's Biorepository capabilities in Europe and its ability to support complex trials, including cell and gene therapies. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Based in Bailly-Romainvilliers, Creapharm Bioservices provides specialized biobanking and cryogenic storage for biotherapeutics, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), and biological samples. Its services include vapor-phase nitrogen storage down to -196°C, mechanical freezer and cold storage, and GMP/GDP-compliant sample custody.

Why now? Clinical pipelines are shifting toward more specialized modalities. A study published by IQVIA in August 2025 found non-small-molecule assets accounted for 46% of Phase I–III clinical trial starts in 2024, up from 38% five years earlier.

What's the endgame? Resonant serves life sciences companies across the clinical supply chain and sample lifecycle. Creapharm Bioservices now joins its Biorepository business, adding cryogenic expertise, chain-of-custody handling, European infrastructure, and the ability to manage genetically modified organisms.

"Life sciences companies increasingly need partners with the specialized expertise, infrastructure, and global reach to support more of the clinical trial lifecycle," said Christophe Berthoux, chief executive officer of Resonant. The capabilities complement its existing Biorepository, Kitting, and Equipment Ancillary services.

For Myonex, the sale sharpens its focus. "This transaction allows Myonex to further concentrate on our core strengths and future strategy," said chief executive officer Greg Lavin, who called Creapharm Bioservices "a natural fit for Resonant."

The signal: As advanced therapies move from lab to clinic, the infrastructure to store and handle delicate biological materials becomes a strategic asset. Consolidation around specialized storage reflects a market betting that complex modalities — not small molecules — are where trial growth lies.
