"AI also opens up entirely new opportunities for our customers in the area of business operations," Huemmerich said.

What the founder says: "It was crucial for us to place the future of Geutebruck in good hands," Katharina Geutebruck said. She added that IBEX "understands, shares and lives the values of German family businesses" while backing the company's growth plans.

The buyer's plan: IBEX Managing Director Jan Dreesen said the deal reflects the rising value of video data and confidence in the technology. "Together with Tobias Huemmerich and his team, we will now work on further driving internationalisation and expanding the range of services," he said.

IBEX is an owner-managed investment company focused on succession situations at Germany's small and mid-sized businesses, funded by its founding partners and co-investors. The transaction was expected to close August 31, per the company's August 26 announcement.

The signal: The deal marks a generational handover at a family-run firm and a bet that video security is shifting from surveillance toward broader AI-driven business analytics.
