Australian institutions commit $705M to Arcmont's European private credit

Brighter SuperDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → chief executive Kate Farrar said the deal reflected the fund's focus on "high-quality private credit opportunities that can provide resilient income and diversification for members." The fund held more than $38 billion in funds under management and over 340,000 members as at 30 June 2026.

Who is Arcmont? Established in 2011, the firm manages around $74 billion of investable capital and finances businesses across Europe. It has committed more than €44 billion across over 540 transactions since launch, raising capital from more than 495 global investors.

Arcmont chief executive Anthony Fobel said the firm was "delighted to partner with these leading Australian investors through a dedicated solution that provides efficient access to Arcmont's European direct lending platform at significant scale."

The signal: As private credit cements its place in institutional portfolios, Australian funds are looking abroad for income and defensive characteristics. The $705 million commitment marks a push into European direct lending that local markets can't easily replicate.
