Trusted Health buys ShiftOS to add AI scheduling agents for hospitals
What's the deal? Trusted Health has acquired ShiftOS, the developer of Holly, an agentic scheduling platform used across hospitals and health systems. Terms were not disclosed. Trusted will fold ShiftOS's technology into Trusted Works, its staffing and scheduling platform for health systems.
What each side brings: Trusted is a healthcare workforce technology company that runs a clinician marketplace and the Trusted Works platform. ShiftOS, led by clinicians, built Holly to handle day-to-day workforce tasks — scheduling, call-offs, shift swaps, paid-time-off requests, license tracking, and compliance monitoring.
What's the endgame? Trusted wants to build what it calls a workforce operating system that can anticipate demand, balance schedules, and decide when external labor is needed. Holly will strengthen Works.AI, the intelligence layer behind the platform, with the first focus on scheduling and shift fulfillment.
Why Holly? The platform runs on an agent-first design, coordinating more than 50 specialised AI agents that complete approved actions rather than just recommend them. What they're saying: "ShiftOS built Holly from first principles to understand complex workflows and take action," said Lennie Sliwinski, founder and chief executive officer of Trusted Health. ShiftOS chief executive officer Autumn-Kyoko Cushman said the technology "should take work off their plates while operating within their controls."
The signal: The deal reflects a shift in health-tech from bolting AI features onto legacy scheduling software toward agent-first systems that act autonomously. As hospitals wrestle with staffing shortages and costly external labour, consolidation around workforce automation platforms is likely to accelerate.
